Would you like to become a member? We welcome new members! We meet approximately 4 times each year and membership, $25 annually, consists of individuals and families, of whom approximately two thirds reside outside of South Australia. In addition, we hold a campout usually around March/April each year so that potential members can learn more about what we do prior to joining.

Our membership continues to grow each year. Some of this increase comes from the interest in our annual working bees in the desert. We welcome participation in these projects. It is a requirement that participants become members of FOS.

All FOS members who participate in the annual working bee based at Dalhousie Springs receive a 12 month Desert Parks Pass. You may want to use your pass pre or post the working bee, or depending on timing use it next year.

If you participate in a working bee and do at least 40 hours work ie 5 days work you will be issued with a unique code which when used for an online booking will give you free or reduced entry into all South Australian national parks as follows

• Free entry into all SA parks where vehicle entry fees apply.
• 25% concession on cost of personal access and guided tours operated by DEW
• 25% concession on the use of facilities within all parks
• Free camping for up to 5 nights in any one location across the state.
